Neuroscience Institute of Amarillo 2001 Coulter St S, Amarillo, TX 79106 · 806-877-2001
Full-time · Amarillo, TX 79106 ·
About us
Neuroscience Institute of Amarillo provides specialized neurology care to patients across the
Texas Panhandle. Many of our visits are supported by a telehealth care model, and we're
looking for a Licensed Vocational Nurse who can be the confident, licensed clinical presence in
the room when our providers are joining a visit remotely.
About the role
We're hiring an LVN to support our neurology clinic team. You'll work closely with our physicians
— in person and via telehealth — to prepare patients, administer medications and injections,
monitor patients during visits and procedures, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks
between the exam room and the provider. This is a hands-on clinical role with real responsibility:
you'll often be the only clinical staff member physically with the patient, coordinating in real time
with a provider joining remotely.
What you'll do
- Room and prepare patients for neurology visits, including patients seen via telehealth
- Administer medications and injections as ordered
- Monitor patients during visits and in-office procedures, and flag any change in status to
the provider right away
- Communicate directly with Spanish-speaking patients and families to make sure they
understand diagnoses, medication instructions, and care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR
- Coordinate with front-office and physician staff to keep clinic flow moving smoothly
- Provide patient education on neurological conditions and treatment plans under provider
direction
What you'll need
- Active, unencumbered Texas LVN license (Texas Board of Nursing), in good standing
- 3–4 years of clinical experience as an LVN; outpatient or specialty clinic experience
preferred, neurology a plus
- Bilingual — fluent in spoken and written Spanish and English
- Comfortable administering medications/injections and monitoring patients independently
in the room
- Strong communication skills and comfort coordinating with a provider who may be joining
the visit remotely
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure
What we offer
- Competitive hourly pay
- [Health/dental/vision insurance]
- [Paid time off]
- [401(k) / retirement plan]
- A supportive clinical team and a clear, structured role in patient care
