Nuevo Leon, Mexico
Full Time
Experienced
Vice President of Finance
Location: Remote / Mexico
Office Location:Torres Moradas, Blvd. Díaz Ordaz 140, Col. Santa María, Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico 64650.
Department: Finance
Reports To: Executive Leadership
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced, highly capable Vice President of Finance to take ownership of our financial strategy and operations across both the United States and Mexico.
This is a senior-level position for someone who can operate independently, identify opportunities and risks, and provide leadership with clear financial insight to support business growth and decision-making.
The ideal candidate is self-sustaining, strategic, analytical, and hands-on. We are looking for someone with significantly more experience than a traditional finance specialist—someone who can build processes, analyze the business, challenge assumptions, and develop financial strategies rather than simply report on historical results.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead financial strategy and planning for operations in both the U.S. and Mexico.
* Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
* Develop financial models and provide recommendations to executive leadership.
* Analyze profitability, operating costs, revenue trends, and opportunities for improvement.
* Establish and monitor financial KPIs and provide regular reporting to leadership.
* Support strategic decisions involving staffing, expansion, investments, pricing, and operational growth.
* Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
* Evaluate the financial impact of business initiatives and provide recommendations before major decisions are made.
* Help optimize the financial relationship and flow of funds between U.S. and Mexico operations.
* Work closely with accounting, payroll, HR, operations, and executive leadership.
* Improve and establish financial processes, controls, reporting structures, and internal procedures.
* Ensure financial information is accurate, timely, and useful for decision-making.
* Coordinate with external accountants, CPAs, tax professionals, banking partners, and other financial advisors as needed.
* Monitor compliance considerations affecting U.S. and Mexico operations in coordination with appropriate professional advisors.
* Identify opportunities to improve margins, reduce unnecessary expenses, and increase financial efficiency.
* Provide leadership with forward-looking analysis rather than simply historical financial reporting.
* Take ownership of financial projects and initiatives from beginning to completion.
What We’re Looking For:
* 8+ years of progressive finance, accounting, FP&A, or financial leadership experience.
* Experience in a senior finance management, Director of Finance, VP Finance, CFO, or similar role.
* Strong understanding of financial strategy, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow, and financial modeling.
* Experience working with U.S. and Mexican financial operations strongly preferred.
* Ability to understand complex financial information and translate it into clear business recommendations.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent Excel/Google Sheets and financial modeling skills.
* Experience working with accounting/ERP and financial reporting systems.
* Strong communication skills in English; Spanish proficiency strongly preferred.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* High level of ownership, accountability, and business judgment.
The Person We’re Looking For
This position is not intended to be a traditional accounting or finance specialist role.
We are looking for someone who can come into the organization, understand how the business operates, identify what needs to be improved, and take ownership of the finance function without needing to be directed through every step.
The right person will be comfortable saying:“Here is what our numbers are telling us, here is the risk I see, here are our options, and here is what I recommend we do.”
We want a strategic financial partner to the executive team—someone who can help us make better decisions as we grow.
Compensation
Compensation will be competitive and based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability. We are open to a mid-to-high market compensation package for the right candidate.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to have a meaningful impact on a growing organization and help shape the financial infrastructure and strategy of operations across two countries.
The person in this role will have significant visibility with executive leadership and the opportunity to directly influence business strategy, growth, and long-term financial performance.
