About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Human Resources & Payroll Specialist to support HR operations and manage payroll processes for both the United States and Mexico. This role requires expertise in payroll administration, employee benefits, terminations, expense tracking, compliance, and employee support within a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end payroll for U.S. and Mexico employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage payroll using platforms such as Prism, Gusto, and OysterHR.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and assist employees with benefits-related inquiries.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including terminations and final pay requirements.
  • Track, review, and reconcile employee expenses and reimbursements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable U.S. and Mexican labor laws, payroll regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, payroll documentation, and HR files.
  • Coordinate with HR, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure employee data, benefits, deductions, and expenses are properly processed.
  • Handle employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, leave requests, and HR policies in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support audits, reporting, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end processes.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll, labor, and employment regulations in both countries.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources and Payroll.
  • Experience processing payroll for both the United States and Mexico.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll systems such as Prism, Gusto, OysterHR, or similar platforms.
  • Experience managing employee benefits administration.
  • Experience handling employee terminations and offboarding processes.
  • Experience with expense tracking, reimbursements, and record management.
  • Strong understanding of Mexican labor and payroll laws (IMSS, ISR, INFONAVIT) and U.S. payroll regulations.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the healthcare or medical industry.
  • Experience supporting multi-state U.S. payroll.
  • Familiarity with audits, compliance reviews, and HR reporting.
  • Experience working in a multi-location or international organization.

  • Independent Contractor position, starting salary of MXN 26,000 per month.
