Job Summary
The Psychometrist administers and scores neuropsychological and psychological assessments under the supervision of a licensed neuropsychologist. This role plays a critical part in the evaluation of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning for patients with neurological and psychological conditions. The Psychometrist ensures accurate test administration, scoring, documentation, and patient care in accordance with clinical protocols and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Assessment & Testing
- Administer, score, and record standardized neuropsychological and psychological assessments.
- Conduct clinical interviews and obtain relevant patient history.
- Observe and document patient behavior and test performance.
- Ensure standardized administration and scoring accuracy.
Patient Care & Support
- Provide clear instructions and reassurance to patients throughout testing.
- Monitor patient comfort, engagement, and emotional response.
- Respond appropriately to patient concerns during testing sessions.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and clinical guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with clinic policies, testing protocols, and regulatory standards.
Collaboration
- Work closely with neuropsychologists, therapists, physicians, and clinical staff.
- Participate in team meetings and ongoing training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field (required).
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 1 year experience in psychological or neuropsychological testing preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in neuropsychology, rehabilitation, or specialty clinical settings.
- Familiarity with standardized testing batteries (WAIS, WMS, RBANS, MMPI, etc.).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
